UK Shipping Times and Prices
What makes Zoe Davidson Jewellery so special is that every piece is completely handmade here in the Orkney Islands, meaning each one is unique.
- Some items are pre-made and stored safely, allowing for faster dispatch within 3–10 working days.
- The majority of our jewellery is made to order, with a typical dispatch time of 2–4 weeks.
If you have a special date in mind, please email us and we’ll do our very best to accommodate your request.
We use Royal Mail for the majority of our UK deliveries. Some services may require a signature on arrival. Once your order has left our workshop, we’ll email you a confirmation along with tracking details (if applicable).
Free UK delivery is included with all online orders.
Christmas & Peak Season Orders
At busy times of year, such as Christmas, delivery may take longer due to increased demand on postal and courier services. We strongly recommend ordering early to avoid disappointment.
- Made-to-order jewellery: may take up to 4 weeks to complete.
- Bespoke pieces: may take up to 12 weeks during peak season.
Please keep these timelines in mind if you are ordering for a special date. If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us before placing your order, and we’ll be happy to advise.
International Delivery
We’re delighted to offer worldwide shipping. All orders are sent using a secure, tracked and insured service. For international orders we primarily use Royal Mail International Tracked and DHL Express, with additional insurance added for peace of mind.

Customs, Duty & Handling Fees:
Jewellery imported into the USA is subject to a 10% import tariff, 2–5% customs duty, and a small handling fee (typically $5–$15). These charges are set by U.S. customs and are the responsibility of the recipient.
Mandatory Pre-Payment of Customs Fees:
Before dispatch, customers in the USA will receive an email from Zoe Davidson Jewellery requesting pre-payment of customs and handling fees.
This step is required to:
Ensure smooth clearance through U.S. customs,
Prevent unexpected charges on arrival, and
Maintain reliable and timely delivery.
Your order will only be dispatched once customs and handling fees have been settled. This process helps us prevent delays or parcels being held by U.S. customs.
⚠️ Please note: Zoe Davidson Jewellery cannot cover or refund U.S. customs charges; all import duties and fees are the responsibility of the recipient.
Other International Destinations (excluding EU & Northern Ireland)

Taxes, Duties & Customs Charges
All international deliveries may be subject to VAT, customs duty, and local handling fees in the destination country. These charges are set by local authorities and are the responsibility of the recipient.
Approximate Charges by Region:
- EU: VAT (usually 20–25%) + ~2% duty on jewellery.
- Australia: GST 10% + ~2% duty.
- New Zealand: GST 15% + ~2% duty.
- USA: 10% import tariff + 2–5% duty + small handling fee (pre-paid before dispatch).
- Other Countries: Local sales taxes typically 5–20% + ~2% duty.
Zoe Davidson Jewellery is not responsible for any VAT, duty, or additional customs charges.
Tracking & Packaging
Every order is dispatched via a tracked and insured service (Royal Mail International Tracked or DHL Express for international deliveries, Royal Mail for UK). Tracking details will be provided once your jewellery is dispatched.
Your jewellery will arrive in a Zoe Davidson Jewellery box, finished with a ribbon, inside an unbranded recyclable cardboard box for safe delivery.
- Sending a gift? Let us know, and we’ll exclude receipts from the package.
- We’re happy to include a personal handwritten message with your gift — just email us with your request.
Gift Cards / Vouchers
- Can only be redeemed online at Zoe Davidson Jewellery.
- Cannot be used to purchase further gift vouchers.
- Must be used for jewellery of the same value or higher.
Returns for International Orders
We accept returns within [insert number] days of delivery.
- Items must be unused, in perfect condition, and returned in their original packaging.
- Return postage, duties, and any customs fees are the responsibility of the customer.
- Please contact us before sending an item back so we can guide you through the process.
Lost or Damaged Parcels
In the unlikely event your parcel is delayed, lost, or arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible so we can assist. All deliveries are insured for your peace of mind, and we’ll work with our carriers to resolve any issues quickly.
Customs Delays
Customs inspections or local handling procedures may sometimes delay delivery. Unfortunately, these are outside our control, but we will always support you where possible if a delay occurs.
