Stromness Hooses Pendant in Sterling Silver

This Stromness pendant is a snapshot of how the houses look from the sea – with their stepped gable-ends, beautiful stonework and piers. If you look closely you can see a traditional Orkney Yole in the foreground, a wooden traditional clinker-built boat, native to Orkney. Stromness is particularly important to Zoe as it’s been her hometown and workplace since moving to Orkney. Makes a wonderful gift or memory-token to oneself. Completely hand-carved in wax and cast in sterling silver then hallmarked at Edinburgh’s Assay Office.

The word ‘hoose’ is Orcadian for house.

This contemporary necklace measures approximately 38mm long, 20mm wide and 3mm deep. It comes with a strong reflective box chain (1.7mm thick). Made from sterling silver.
