Small Swirl Pendant with Rainbow Australian Opal and 18ct Yellow Gold Plate

A beautiful pendant featuring a vibrant rainbow-coloured Australian Opal Doublet with flashes of orange, blue and green. A fold-formed silver and gold swirl surrounds the stone as if a wave just about to break. 18ct yellow gold plating is in the folded form adding a wonderful contrast to the silver. A stunning piece to wear and a lovely size too.

Opal is one of the birthstones for October and 95% of them come from Australia. Each piece of opal are completely one of a kind with all their unique flashes of colour. An opal doublet is essentially two layers adhered together. The top layer is a thin slice of real opal and the bottom layer usually consists of a piece of black or dark potch (common) opal. This makes for a more affordable opal, yet still retaining those stunning opal patterns and colours.

The pendant measures approximately 18mm wide, 22mm high and 4mm deep (excluding bail). Comes with a sterling silver omega cable (1.2mm thick).
