A designer jewellery necklace, this beautiful pendant features a beautiful green-blue solid Australian freeform opal cabochon. A sculptural sterling silver swirl surrounds the stone as if a wave is crashing onto the shore. 9ct yellow gold granules and 18ct yellow gold plating are fused to the metals surface which adds both texture and colour. A stunning piece to wear and own. Completely hand made in Orkney. Hallmarked in Edinburgh's Assay Office so you can be assured of its quality.Opal is one of the birthstones for October and 95% of them come from Australia. Each piece of opal are completely one of a kind with all their unique flashes of colour. This one has has ultra-vibrant blues and greens when the light hits it.The pendant measures approximately 60mm wide, 55mm high and 15mm deep. The opal measures approximately 18mm long and 10mm wide. The term aquamarine comes from a combination of two Latin words. The first one, aqua, translates as “water” and the second, marina to “sea”. March’s birthstone belongs to this beautiful stone. It is a fairly durable gemstone with a hardness of 7.5-8.0 on the Mohs Hardness Scale.The pendant measures approximately 45mm wide, 45mm high and 15mm deep. The Aquamarine measures approximately 13mm x 8mm. Each component is finished with a striking grey/black patina reflecting the colours of lichen growing from the rock. It has been embellished with 9ct yellow gold granules to represent the pebbles caught in the rock carried in by high tides, which effortlessly capture the light.These handmade necklets are made to order so please allow 4-8 weeks for completion.Dimensions:The total length of the necklace comes to 48cm/19 inches. Each component measures 40mm long, 10mm wide and 5mm deep.
